Fabletown citizens threw dead Fables down the Witching Well to ensure they did not come back to life. They did not realize that those who were thrown down the Witching Well never moved on but were stuck down there. King Ambrose, on his way through the Witching Well to the Homelands, took all Fables who wished to come out of the Witching Well and to Haven.
The Fable
The Witching Well is supposed to be all the unnamed magical wells in tales.[1]
