Sandman was a Vertigo series that ran from 1989 to 1996. It was written by Neil Gaiman. Sandman was originally published under DC comics, but starting with issue #47 it was placed under the Vertigo imprint.
Sandman has been on the New York Times Bestseller List (one of the few graphic novels to ever make the list).
